Ram Kumar has captured the real beauty of nature in this simple landscape comprising of sunset skies, mountains, trees and a river in his abstract style. Living in our concrete jungle, we often forget the beauty and simplicity of nature in its purest form. This artwork reminds us to just pause and soak it all in.
The various thread stitches used to replicate the brush strokes give not only a depth but also movement to the artwork. Cotton and silk threads as well as bullion are used in a way that from far the different stitches blend into each other beautifully but up close each area has its own detailing. The trees and the mountain areas are made prominent by raising them a little against the flat stitches of the water and the sky. This artwork took approximately 3000 hours of handwork to be completed.
